Indoor timetables are a thing of the past!

Recognising children need time outside the classroom, we have undercover play grounds, sand pits, wooden forts and cafe-style eating zones, ensuring your child isn't confined to the 'indoors' on rainy or hot days.

02 Dedicated spaces:

We may be a small school but we're big on heart and big on space. We have dedicated spaces enhancing your child's creativity, including:

  • Music and Performing Arts room
  • Library and Technology room
  • Gardens, bike track and Ag/farm space.

03 Agriculture Area:

Girgarre PS pays homage to our local agriculture background.

With a dedicated area for farm animals, the school often hosts calves, chickens and ducks with students actively raising these animals, developing potential pathways to a future in Agriculture.

Bike and Scoot

Before school, recess and lunch your child can ride, scoot or trike until their hearts content.

Girgarre Primary offers a wide variety of sport through specialty sporting providers ensuring your child has access to as many options as possible.

Technology

Ensuring your child is armed with the knowledge of technology, we have an extensive tech library available for students, from iPads, laptops and smart TV's for presentations. Enhancing your child's confidence and capability for the future.

Music

Girgarre Primary offers music lessons as part of the curriculum.

Excursions

Included within our curriculum are a variety of excursions. 2023 saw children visit the snow for Sport, Mary Poppins for Performing Arts, along with an array of in-cursions, such as Science & Tech, plus the visiting dentist, just to name a few.

Kids Kitchen

Children are encouraged to test their maths skills through a variety of everyday adaptations. Our Kids Kitchen is a popular activity where students prepare their own healthy lunches once per week, as well as preparing items to sell at the Girgarre Market.

Our Facilities:

At Girgarre Primary, we have spacious grounds with access to:

  • Two covered playgrounds
  • A wooden fort
  • A basketball court with adjustable hoop
  • A netball ring and goal circle
  • An exercise and cycling track
  • Two sandpits (one covered)
  • Line markings for a wide variety of games and activities
  • Agriculture shed
  • Kitchen Garden
  • Scattered musical objects as part of the towns musical culture.


Community fitness playground

  • Constructed in 2021, the fitness playground is open for community use outside of school hours. It incorporates static exercise stations, climbing structures, hurdles, monkey bars and rock walls.
