Extra Curricula Activities
Small school, endless opportunities.
Being a small school enables us to offer students the most remarkable possibilities, allowing them opportunities not found in larger schools. See below a breakdown of our extra curricula offerings, mostly funded or heavily subsidised by the school and yearly fundraising.
Whole school excursions:
Swimming lessons
Girgarre Primary School offers students swimming lessons.
Recognising water safety is key when living in rural areas.
Exploring Circus Quirkus
Students have the opportunity to visit a circus, expanding our Performing Arts curriculum whilst enhancing student confidence.
Attending the theatre
Furthering our commitment to Performing Arts, students visit a live performance in Melbourne,
providing an incredible life opportunity.
Gymnastics
PE isn't always held at school often we include a variety of experiences such and outside provider Jetts Gymnastics is one of our offerings
Horticulture
Working with Dan the Gargarro Botanical Gardens curator our students learnt about propagating and planting local natives.
Cluster days
At several times throughout the year, our cluster of small schools join together to participate in sporting, musical, environmental or artistic programs.
Our Senior School Excursions
In addition to the whole school excursions we offer a variety of senior school excursions to greatly develop and enhance our students transition into their senior roles and future larger schooling environment.
Sailing
To further develop our students skill set we offer sailing with Yachting Victoria.
Inter School Sport
An opportunity for our students to put their skills to the test against other local schools.

GRIP Leaders Conference
Helping young people grow and realise their potential, this is a multi school event than our student attend every second year.
Grade 4, 5 & 6 camps
Camps are an integral part of our extra-curricular program. Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to attend an annual camp along with with students from Lancaster, Stanhope and Merrigum Primary Schools.
Attending camp builds student resilience, independence, safe risk-taking and supports the development of friendships through regular interaction with students from other schools, many of whole may attend future secondary school together.
